NOTICE OF PUBLIC MEETING OF BOARD OF EMERGENCY SERVICES COMMISSIONERS

In compliance with provisions of Chapter 551, Texas Government Code, Notice is hereby given that the Board of Commissioners of Hill County Emergency Services District No. 1 will hold a Business Meeting on: February 16th 2023 at 6:30 pm. The meeting will be held at Abbott Community Center, 110 Willie Nelson road, Abbott, Texas At which time, the following subjects will be discussed, considered, passed, or adopted, to wit.

  1. Call meeting to order and establish a Quorum.
  2. Invocation
  3. Citizen comments. Please limit it to about 3 minutes.
  4. Consent agenda’
    1. Minutes of January 19th 2023 and Feb.1, 2023
    2. Treasure’s Report, Action
    3. Bills to be paid. Action.
  5. Discuss and/ approve  The Vice President and Treasure  oversee the and work with the paid staff.
  6. Discuss Changes that are going to be brought to the legislature this session.
  7. Discuss and or Approve Mertens request for repairs to their Engine.                                                                                                                                                                       
  8. Discuss and or approve MT Calm’s request for help with a Grant.
  9. Discuss and/or approve the repair the Engine at Lakeview, EST.$2,450.00
  10. Discuss and approve Requesting a Debit card and setting a limit on it from the Bank.
  11. Discuss prices received from vendor on Bunker Gear. And Compressor for refilling air tanks.
  12. Discuss and /or Approve posting Agenda for a meeting February 23 2023 at 1000 to meet with the Risk Management from VFIS.
  13. Set date for next meeting. [March 16th 2023 ].

NOTE: The Board of Commissioners reserve the right to adjourn into Executive Session at any time during this meeting to discuss any of the listed above as authorized by the Texas Open Meetings Act, Chapter551, Governmental Code, including but not limited to 551.071,551.072, 551073, 551.073, 551/074, and 551.076

The District reserves the right to consider and take action on the above agenda items in any order. It also reserves the right to enter a closed meeting on any agenda item as allowed by law. A Citizens Comment Form must be filed with the Secretary at least 10 minutes prior to the beginning of the meeting for an individual to be allowed to speak during Citizen Comment. By completing the Citizen Comment form, the individual understands and acknowledges that the public is not entitled to choose the items to be discussed by the Board of Emergency Services Commissioners. The individual executing the Citizens Comment Form understands that he/she may not be allowed to continue to address the Board of Emergency Services Commissioners if the comments are rude, disparaging, or defamatory to any individual, entity, or the comments become disruptive to the good order of the meeting. If at a meeting of a governmental body, a member of the public or of the governmental body inquiries about a subject for which notice has not been given as required by the Texas Open Meeting Act, the notice provisions of the Texas Open Meetings Act do not apply to a statement specific factual information given in response to the inquiry, a recitation of existing policy in response to the inquiry, or any deliberation of , or decision about the subject of the inquiry shall be limited to a proposal to place the subject on the agenda for a subsequent meeting. It should be noted that pursuant to Section 38.13 Texas Penal Code, HINDERING PROCEEDINGS BY DISORDERLY CONDUT (a) A person commits an offence if he intentionally hinders an official proceeding by noise or violent or tumultuous behavior or disturbance and continues after explicit official request to desist, and an offense under Section 38.15 Texas Penal Code is a Class A misdemeanor
